100 Downloads, Free Bonus for All Users

Thursday, July 15th, 2010

It has only been a week since the release of the Salsa Rhythm application for iPhone, and we have already had more than 100 downloads of the new application. Excited by this quick adoption and download rate we have decided to create a free standalone, downloadable version of the iPhone application that can run on your desktop and laptop PCs.

This means you can enjoy all the benefits of the iPhone application also on your PC, without needing any internet connection: the new Salsa Rhythm app for PC looks just like the real iPhone version and works the same way the iPhone version does, bringing the power of the iPhone application to your desktop too.  I have a screenshot to show you what it looks on my Windows XP computer – Yeah, it really is an iPhone-lookalike running the Salsa Rhythm from within my desktop.

The new iPhone Simulator 1.0 version of Salsa Rhythm will be available for download during July, without any charge, and we will let you register for a free download starting from tomorrow. The link for registration & download will be published on this blog and also on social media, facebook and twitter tomorrow, so stay tuned…

Salsa Rhythm for iPhone now on the iTunes Appstore

Friday, July 9th, 2010

The long-waited iPhone version of the Salsa Beat Machine is now available for download under the name “Salsa Rhythm”. You can find it by searching for “Salsa Rhythm” in your iPhone/iPod Touch/iPad AppStore, or even easier, you can go directly to this appstore link: http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/salsa-rhythm/id379868541?mt=8 and click the blue “View In iTunes” button on the right.

If you like the new Salas Rhythm application, please take a minute and leave a review in the appstore. If we see that the iPhone application becomes popular and gets more than 80 reviews and ratings, we will purchase an iPad device and start working on developing a new version designed especially for the iPad.

Thank you for your patience waiting for this release, and be sure that we are already working on our next release, Salsa Rhythm for iPhone v1.1, with exciting new features.

Now available: Record your Salsa Beat Machine !

Friday, July 2nd, 2010

A long-waited feature is finally available: The ability to record the Salsa Beat Machine output to a WAVE file so that you can edit it, mix it in another software, or just take it with you anywhere on your iPod. The possibilities of this new feature are endless, are I am sure we are going to see interesting uses for this in the following months from many of the users.

This new feature is available on the Salsa Rhythm Software for PC, which is a version of the Salsa Beat Machine designed to run directly from your desktop (as opposed to the online version, which runs from your web browser). In order to use this feature, you need a relatively strong CPU. While we have not tested the exact performance of recording to Wave files, we can certainly say using it requires a considerable amount of computer resources. In my tests, however, it ran smoothly on my Intel core i5 workstation.

The Salsa Rhythm Software is available for download to all past and present users who have donated to the Salsa Beat Machine. All donors are registered users and can download the latest version here:

We are currently working very hard to deliver you additional cool features soon, stay tuned… And if you have some specific feature you’d like to request, you can do it on our Feature Request Page.

iPhone Application sent to Appstore

Monday, June 28th, 2010

Following the post from Saturday, we have finally submitted version 1.0 of the application to the iTunes Appstore. It still has to go through apple’s application approval process, which can take up to two weeks, but after it will have been approved it is going to appear on the appstore immediately and be available for download worldwide.

The application’s initial price will be 0.99$, it will be titled “Salsa Rhythm” and will have a stylish red icon. We are also creating a cool online demo for the application – more on that later…

Flash Player 10.1 support is here !

Wednesday, June 23rd, 2010

It’s been only two weeks since the release of Adobe Flash Player 10.1, but since we have received a lot of support calls from people who could not get the Salsa Rhythm Software running with the new flash player, we have decided to create a new version, resolving the compatibility issues with Flash Player 10.1.

The updated version is available for all donors free of charge, and can be downloaded by following the instructions here:

iPhone Salsa Rhythm Release Candidate is out

Saturday, June 19th, 2010

Salsa Rhythm for iPhone, the mobile version of the famous Salsa Beat Machine application has finally got to the release-candidate stage. This means that the application is complete and ready for the app-store, and we are letting our beta testers to play with it to haunt for last-minute bugs and problems.

You can find screen shots from the previous versions by looking in the blog archives, but better just wait a few days and you will have it running on your iPhone/iPod Touch too…

Since we already have enough beta testers, we will not process any additional beta testing applications for this version. All existing beta testers will get an email with download link and installation instructions for the release candidate. You can read their feedback by visiting our community googlegroup page:

http://groups.google.com/group/sbm-community

In addition, we would like to publish a review about the upcoming version. If any of the blog readers is interested in getting the final version in order to write a review, please mail us to iphone@salsarhythmsoftware.com. If we find that you are suitable for writing a review, we will send you a personal pre-release version to install on your iPhone/iPod Touch/iPad device, for reviewing purposes. You will be able to keep this version installed even after writing the review, of course.

Until next time,
the Salsa Beat Machine team.
