Tuesday, June 22nd, 2010I have just completed all the paperwork required for selling apps in the iTunes store. The Salsa Rhythm application is just a few steps away from getting on the App Store – some final touches to the help file, quick homepage and we are ready to go !
The final 1.0 version will be submitted to the App Store by this weekend.
iPhone Salsa Rhythm Release Candidate is out
Saturday, June 19th, 2010Salsa Rhythm for iPhone, the mobile version of the famous Salsa Beat Machine application has finally got to the release-candidate stage. This means that the application is complete and ready for the app-store, and we are letting our beta testers to play with it to haunt for last-minute bugs and problems.
You can find screen shots from the previous versions by looking in the blog archives, but better just wait a few days and you will have it running on your iPhone/iPod Touch too…
Since we already have enough beta testers, we will not process any additional beta testing applications for this version. All existing beta testers will get an email with download link and installation instructions for the release candidate. You can read their feedback by visiting our community googlegroup page:

In addition, we would like to publish a review about the upcoming version. If any of the blog readers is interested in getting the final version in order to write a review, please mail us to iphone@salsarhythmsoftware.com. If we find that you are suitable for writing a review, we will send you a personal pre-release version to install on your iPhone/iPod Touch/iPad device, for reviewing purposes. You will be able to keep this version installed even after writing the review, of course.

The release candiadate of the iPhone version is just around the corner!
Thursday, June 17th, 2010The release candidate of the first iPhone “Salsa Beat Machine” is just a few steps from getting on your iPhone.
A release candidate is very much like the final version – it is going to have all the features that are to be included in the final version, and will be freely distributed to all beta testers in order to spot any potential bugs.
What this mean, is that unless we find any severe bugs in the version (we believe we won’t), there is going to be “Salsa Beat Machine” in the iTunes app store very soon, maybe even next week.

Saxophone is coming to the Merengue Machine
Friday, June 11th, 2010We are currently experimenting with adding a Saxophone instrument to the Merengue Beat Machine.
The saxophone is one of the exotic instruments which gives the Merengue music its taste, and it’s the first brass instrument to be included in the Beat Machine.
Preview releases will be available for all donors, as a part of the Salsa Rhythm Software (the standalone version of the beat machine) starting from next week, feel free to request your copy by mailing to beatmachine@salsa4fun.co.il.
We are also looking forward to replacing the maracas with a Güira instrument – If any of the readers has a good sound samples of a güira, please contact us as we really want to include this instrument along with the Merengue Beat Machine.
Finally, we are about to release the first RC version (Release Candidate) of the Salsa Rhythm for iPhone. all users who have applied to our beta program will get a copy to play with.

Friday, May 21st, 2010It has been more than 2 month since I have updated the blog, but the reasons for this are very good: I am very busy working on the iPhone version of the Salsa Beat Machine.
An android prototype is also out for alpha-testing, while the iPhone version is already in the second beta.
